3.7% fall in Oman’s real estate trading

MUSCAT : According to the data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information, real estate trading saw a decrease until the end of October this year.

Preliminary statistics indicated that the fees collected for all legal actions until the end of October 2022 amounted to OMR 52,600,000 a decrease of 28 percent compared to the same period last year.

The data also showed a decrease in the traded value of sale contracts by 6 percent, to record OMR 939,400,000 until the end of last October, compared to OMR 999,300,000 until the end of October 2021. There was also a decrease of 20.8% in the number of sales contracts, recording 58,650 contracts until the end of October 2022, compared to 74,032 contracts during the same period in 2021.

Statistics showed a decrease in the traded value of mortgage contracts by the end of last October by 1.5 percent. It amounted to OMR 1,077,200, compared to OMR 1,094,100 during the same period in 2021; the number of mortgage contracts reached 16,237 contracts, an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021, which recorded 15,380 contracts.

The traded value of swap contracts decreased by 9.3 percent, to reach OMR 13,800,000 until the end of last October, compared to OMR 15,200,000 during the same period in 2021. The number of swap contracts decreased by 24.5 percent, to reach 1,105 contracts, compared to 1,464 contracts by the end of October 2021.

The number of royalties issued at the end of last October reached 194,851, a decrease of 7.6 percent from the same period in 2021, while the number of royalties issued to children of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries increased by 1.2 percent, to reach 691, compared to 683 ownerships during the same period in 2021.
