5,000 people attend largest iftar in Oman

MUSCAT: Five thousand people including 1,000 women attended the largest iftar in Oman organised by the Indian Social Club (ISC) Deccani Wing at the iconic Clock Tower in Ruwi.

The local Hyderabadi community has been organising its annual iftar at the iconic Clock Tower for nearly two decades, with the Deccani Wing taking the lead since its formation a few years ago.

Indian Ambassador Amit Narang was the chief guest, while Sheikh Emad Said Al Rawahi, Director of Fatwa Research at the Office of the General Mufti of Oman was the guest of honour.

“The purpose of hosting the iftar is to serve the community, share our culture with diverse nationalities, and create a platform for universal brotherhood,” said Suhail Khan, Head of Organising Committee for the iftar event.
