CIGRE Muscat International Symposium 2023 opens

MUSCAT: In his inaugural speech, the Undersecretary of Energy and Minerals, said, “We are moving at a steady pace towards placing electric energy at a high level of progress and development, in partnership between the private and public sectors, and with openness to regional and global experiences.”

Adding further, he said, “The Symposium represents a global platform through which we seek to learn about the various international experiences in energy systems, as well as to review the best modern practices used in this essential sector in the civilized life of society.”

More than 60 international experts in the field of electric energy will participate in the symposium to present the latest technologies and advanced solutions, especially in the fields of electric power systems, electricity transmission networks and renewable energy.

The CIGRE (The International Council on Large Electric Systems) Symposium will focus on recent researches, developments and policies related to transition to innovative, sustainable and resilient power systems. It will provide an opportunity for experts, scholars and engineers to exchange knowledge about such technical and regulatory aspects during technical sessions.

It will discuss the impact of the trend towards reducing carbon emissions and switching to renewable energy on the infrastructure of the electricity sector and access to more durable electrical systems.
Hosted by GCC CIGRE, the three-day Symposium is the largest gathering of energy experts in the region.
