MUSCAT: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) held a meeting with the coordinators of the national emergency management system to discuss the latest updates on the tropical condition Biparjoy at the Arabian Sea.

Earlier on Wednesday, CAA stated that tropical storm Biparjoy situating 1140km from the coasts of Oman has intensified into a category one cyclone. However, Oman Met has confirmed that there will be no direct impact of the cyclone in the Sultanate for the next three days.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ located over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea is likely to shift northwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next few hours.
