MUSCAT – H.E. Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Ma’awali, Governor of South Al-Sharqiyah, explained in a statement to the Oman News Agency that the study, related to the development of Khor Al Battah in the Wilayat of Sur, includes a number of surveys, most prominent of which are measuring works – measuring waves, currents and water levels, in addition to a ‘geotechnical’ soil survey.

He explained that the advisory study focuses on four areas, and that it is expected to be completed, with all its components, before the end of this year. The Khor Al Battah area will include a number of tourist attractions that characterize the Wilayat of Sur, he added. He further indicated that the governorate is currently working on implementing a beautification project related to the development of Al Tina area in Jabal Eid in the Wilayat of Sur, funded by the Oman LNG Company.
The project is being designed as a children’s playground. The governorate is also in the process of issuing a tender to conduct a consultative study for the development of the market area in the Wilayat of Sur, which includes treatment of water and sewage leaks. The governorate will also shortly announce a number of municipal projects in various wilayats of the governorate.
