His Majesty’s meeting with businessmen, SME owners will empower private sector, says OCCI Chief

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s meeting with businessmen and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) owners will empower the private sector, according to Faisal Al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).

On Wednesday, during his meeting with business leaders and SME owners, His Majesty referred to the need for business owners and small and medium enterprises to benefit from the infrastructure facilities, economic packages, and programs adopted by the government, including the promotion of local content for Omani industries and other facilities and programs.

“I was honored to attend the meeting of His Majesty with business owners, and the sincere feelings and keenness we felt in him to empower the private sector, and we will work in the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to translate His Majesty’s directives to actively contribute to economic development,” Al Rawas said.

During his meeting, His Majesty stressed on the importance of empowering SMEs and emerging companies in the local economy and their integration with large companies through innovative solutions and qualitative business opportunities they offer in the local and foreign market.

His Majesty also emphasized the need to create a business environment in the country to be competitive, attractive to investments and create job opportunities in which the government exercises the regulatory role associated with efficiency and successful administrative smoothness.
