Indian School Wadi Kabir celebrated the 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The senior school campus was bedecked with festoons and flags of the great nation, and the décor and ambience were perfectly in tune with the celebration of freedom.
The Chief Guest for the momentous occasion was Mrs. Janaki Amit Sampat, a well-known health and wellness advisor in the Sultanate of Oman. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Alkesh Joshi, honorary president of the school management committee of ISWK and other esteemed members of the school management committee, other dignitaries, members of the Education Cell, parents, students and special invitees. The students of ISWK presented a guard of honour to the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests. The National Anthem was played by the school band, filling the air with a patriotic fervour.









The celebration began with the release of the tri-coloured balloons, symbolizing the start of the festivities. The impressive marching contingents of ISWK and ISWK Cambridge International saluted the Chief Guest, showcasing their sense of dignity and pride. In her address to the gathering, Mrs. Janaki Sampat emphasized on the importance of education in every Indian’s life and the need to protect and value it.
The captivating cultural program commenced with a dance drama titled “Spirit of Freedom” performed by the students of ISWK Cambridge International. A soulful rendition of the patriotic song, “Dhana Dhanya Pushpe Bhora” by the Hindustani Music Choir of ISWK was greatly appreciated by the august gathering. “Azadi ke rang, swatantrata ke sang” was an enthralling dance performance showcased by the students of Nursery to grade II. The tiny tots of the primary wing presented a dance performance with a live choir titled “Sholay – the power of our youth.” The event concluded with a dance performance titled “Jai Hind ki Sena” by students of the senior wing who performed the famous Bihu dance of Assam with elegance and finesse. The participants held the audience spellbound with their performances and also instilled in them a patriotic fervour.
Overall the 77th Independence Day celebration at ISWK was a grand and memorable event which once again glorified the rich cultural diversity of India.
