Keep Muscat Beautiful: Municipality calls on people to stop vandalising parks

MUSCAT : In a series of posters released online, the Municipality has urged public to be careful when utilizing services and facilities in parks and gardens in the city.

“Muscat Municipality is committed to creating vibrant spaces that meet the community’s needs, implementing several development and beautification projects for several public spaces, parks and gardens across the country. We urge everyone to preserve these precious areas and refrain from tampering with public facilities,” states the Municipality notice.

Calling on people to avoid vandalism of park facilities, play areas, and equipment, the Municipality specifically requests people to stop writing/scribbling on walls, as it is a prohibited behavior.

Also, vandalising children’s play areas, and damaging park chairs can cause problems for other park visitors, it notes.

“Together, let’s preserve these spaces for current and future generations; let’s make parks welcoming spaces for all visitors,” is the message Municipality wants to convey, while also referring to the importance of conserving environment and protecting green spaces.

The public is requested to report negative behaviour through the Muscat Call Center (1111) so that legal action can be taken against such vandals.
