Oman Across Ages Museum: A journey through past, present and future

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Monday will open the Oman Across Ages Museum, a landmark structure that will put the sultanate on the map of world-class museums.

Considered to be one among the largest in the region, the iconic museum is located in Manah in Dakhliyah. The museum is a project that was envisioned by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur, who laid its foundation stone in 2015.

The museum is spread over an area of around 40,000sqm, and the building design is inspired by the geometric profile of the Hajar Mountains and its canyons. It comprises 9,000sqm of permanent and temporary exhibition galleries, a library, an auditorium, research and storage space, and children’s classrooms. It harmoniously coexists with its unique surrounding landscape.

The museum is a celebration of the country’s rich history, culture and economic growth through time while offering an insight into Oman’s tomorrow.
