Oman delegation engages in high-level talks at Tashkent International Investment Forum

UZBEKISTAN: Represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, held in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Led by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Oman’s delegation comprises key figures, including Ambassador Sayyida Wafa Jabr Al Busaidi and prominent business leaders.

The first day of the forum witnessed a series of engaging panel discussions focused on various facets of global investment, economic growth, and opportunities in green energy. Participants delved into strategies for navigating the evolving global economic landscape, touching upon crucial topics such as corporate governance, emerging e-commerce trends, and lucrative investment prospects in infrastructure.

One of the event’s highlights was the meeting between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Minister Al Yousef, where they discussed enhancing bilateral trade relations and exploring avenues to boost investments. The spotlight also shone on the Omani-Uzbek Investment Company, with talks centred on attracting more investors and expanding investment horizons into sectors like tourism, hospitality, healthcare, education, logistics, and infrastructure.

Minister Al Yousef’s discussions with Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, further emphasized the commitment to fostering economic ties. Plans for a potential exhibition showcasing Uzbekistani products in Oman, increasing trade volumes, and establishing direct air routes between the two nations were explored, signalling a promising trajectory for future collaborations.
