Oman hosts conference on assisting aircraft accident victims and families

MUSCAT : The conference aims to facilitate discussions on the standards and requirements set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for dealing with aircraft accidents and supporting affected families.

The event serves as a platform to introduce both local and international organizations dedicated to assisting passengers involved in aviation incidents. It also highlights Oman’s significant role in the aviation sector and its commitment to upholding ICAO standards.

Delivering the opening speech at the conference, Captain Majid Al Barhi, Director General of Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, emphasised Oman’s dedication to meeting international recommendations and requirements outlined in the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.

He underscored Oman’s efforts to ensure the application of the highest air safety standards, aiming to foster development and prosperity in the aviation sector on both local and international fronts.
