Oman hosts international conference on heritage opportunities at GUtech

MUSCAT : Under the patronage of H.E. Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, the conference opened on Saturday, February 24, with the participation of more than 160 researchers from more than 20 countries.

The four-day conference will focus on examining the opportunities that lie at the intersection of heritage conservation and sustainable development, as well as the transformative power of technology and innovative solutions. It aims to pave the way for fruitful collaborations across different domains through dialogue sessions on heritage and reconstruction, scientific sessions on heritage management and methodologies for preservation and tourism in World Heritage sites, in addition to a scientific visit to a number of historical sites in the Sultanate of Oman.
