‘Oman loses a great personality’: His Majesty pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik paid glowing tributes to Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, who died aged 96.

In a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court said: “His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has received the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II with great sadness.”

“The departed Queen was a constant friend of the Sultanate of Oman. Since she ascended the throne of the UK, Queen Elizabeth II was known to be a judicious leader who contributed immensely to the propagation of love and peace in the whole world, throughout her 70-year reign. Oman, upon the death of the Queen, loses a truly prominent personality.”

“As a mark of respect, His Majesty the Sultan has issued orders to fly Oman flags at half-mast in the public and private sectors and in the embassies of the Sultanate of Oman abroad on Friday, 9/9/2022,” the statement added.
