Oman Ministry reveals 363 upcoming tourism and heritage projects

MUSCAT : The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has revealed 363 upcoming tourism and heritage projects within the period of 2021-2025, the total estimated value of which will be OMR 2.29 billion. The projects include 12 integrated tourism complexes, 24 projects of domestic tourism development, and the development of 124 hotel establishments, among others.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is looking forward to the investments in the tourism sector reaching OMR 3 billion during the aforementioned period by attracting additional investments worth OMR 700 million by the year 2025, although initial indicators predict that this figure will be achieved and exceeded before that.

This comes within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to promote tourism investments in all sectors and keep pace with the growing tourism movement in the country. His Excellency Salem bin Mohammad Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, stated that, the MHT’s efforts in attracting investment come from the standpoint of the developmental role that relies on the tourism sector in accordance with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the comprehensive plan for developing the tourism sector in Oman.
