MUSCAT: Oman has announced more than 20,000 hotel rooms along with 200 resorts in 11 wilayats to welcome football fans attending the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Shabib bin Muhammad Al-Maamari, Director General of the National Travel Operator, representative of the Omran Group said more than 200 tourism products through more than 35 local operators.
Al Maamari also said 10 land transport companies will benefit from the partnership with 52 airlines around the world operating flights to the Sultanate of Oman. Meanwhile, Oman Air will operate 48 flights carrying 3,000 passengers daily to Doha.
As part of promoting the World Cup festival, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will host events and activities, most notably a festival village for World Cup fans, which will be held in the gardens of Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in an area of more than 9,000 square meters.
Meanwhile, the Sultanate has announced a mult-trip tourist visa for “Hayya” card holders attending the Fifa World Cup 2022.
Lt. Col. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Ghafri, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the General Directorate of Passports and Civil Status, informed that the World Cup fan visa for Hayya card holders will be free of charge and will be valid for 60 days.
Hayya card holder can also bring his family (first degree) and reside in Oman.
