Oman rain: Dhofar Governorate witnesses rains of varied intensity, flow of wadis

MUSCAT : Coastal areas, neighboring mountains, and parts of the Dhofar Desert have been affected by these weather conditions, a result of prevailing weather patterns in several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Ahmed bin Salem Ghawas, Director of the Meteorology Department at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Dhofar Governorate, stated that rain clouds are expected to continue flowing sporadically.
Significant rainfall has already been recorded, with Salalah receiving 18.6 mm, Dhalkut 39 mm, Salalah Port 21 mm, Qairun Hirti 21 mm, and Thumrait 12 mm.

Omani meteorologists at the Civil Aviation Authority predict that these weather effects will persist until Friday. There will be continued chances of rain clouds, scattered rains of varying intensity, and possibilities of valleys and reefs flowing in the governorate.

Residents are urged to exercise caution during thunderstorms, avoid crossing valleys, steer clear of low-lying areas, refrain from venturing into the sea during inclement weather, and closely follow bulletins and warnings issued by the National Center for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards at the Civil Aviation Authority.
