Oman to host International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds

MUSCAT : The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Omani Investment Authority, will host the annual meeting of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds, to be held in the last quarter of 2024. This will be the first annual IFSWF meeting in a decade to be hosted in the region.

Oman was selected by IFSWF members after winning a significant majority in an anonymous vote at the annual meeting in Baku.

This event will enhance Oman’s the global profile and cement its role as an active member of the IFSWF, stated OIA, an active player in the IFSWF.

As per an online statement from OIA, the event will open up opportunities to build long-term investment relationships that will contribute positively to economic diversification efforts and attract foreign capital.

OIA listed out event significance as follows:

• Strategic international positioning for Oman and attracting foreign capital to the country
• Investment relationships with the biggest sovereign wealth funds in the world
• Promotion of the investment potential and the natural wealth and resources of Oman
IFSWF, established in 2009 in UK, represents 80% of the assets of sovereign wealth funds in the world. It has 36 members and its wealth exceeds +USD 8 trillion.
