MUSCAT : A number of male and female teachers expressed their pride in dedicating a day to Omani teachers, who are key partners in the educational and knowledge process. It is an affirmation of their role in instilling values of citizenship and community service, spreading a spirit of tolerance among students, and consolidating good behaviors while guiding them towards the best path in their future lives.

As per statistics, the total number of Omani teachers reached 58,704 – 18,080 male teachers (with an Omanization rate of 71.3%), and 40,624 female teachers (Omanization rate of 90.6%).
Fathia bint Muhammad Al Balushi, a senior teacher, said teacher is a beacon who guides students at all times and places. She pointed out that humanity and the love of giving are among the most important pillars that highlight the personality of the teacher, in addition to qualities such as honesty, patience, mercy, tolerance and other qualities that reflect positively on the student’s behavior.
Ahmed bin Khalfan Al-Azri, a school administration supervisor in Muscat Governorate, pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman’s celebration of the Omani Teacher’s Day comes as an affirmation of the active role played by the Omani teacher in education and as the main engine of the educational system. He explained that the active role of the teacher in the educational process is represented in a number of strategies.
Samira bint Hamoud Al-Baimaniya, Principal of Fatima Bint Al Walid School, expressed her sincere congratulations to every male and female teacher in Oman who carry the torch of knowledge and the banner of light and peace. She explained that education is about managing energies of young minds and buried talents, refining them and highlighting them for the sake of the country.
