Oman’s EA eliminates over 68,000 invasive birds in Dhofar

MUSCAT : In a statement issued online to update the results of the National Campaign on Combating Invasive Birds, the Environment Authority noted that its team had effectively eliminated thousands of invasive birds since the beginning of the campaign. Of the 68,282 birds culled up to March end, 45,163 were mynas and 23,121 were Indian crows.

The Authority called on the public to enhance its efforts by ensuring that the garbage bins are closed, leftovers are not thrown in public places and agricultural crops are kept covered to prevent birds from reaching them.
