Oman’s ministry to host seminar on international tax law

MUSCAT : Titled ‘Navigating International Taxation: OECD’s (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) Inclusive Framework on BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting)’, the seminar is scheduled to be held on May 21, 2024 at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, located at Airport Heights in Muscat.

It will delve into the intricacies of BEPS Pillar Two, a global initiative designed to ensure multinational enterprises pay a minimum level of corporate tax in each jurisdiction they operate within.

With many countries already implementing Pillar Two regulations as of January 1, 2024, Oman, a member of the BEPS Inclusive Framework, is expected to follow suit soon.

The event will explore the potential implications and challenges associated with adopting Pillar Two, both for lawmakers and MNEs, on a local, regional, and global scale.
