Priority is to establish principles of governance, says new OCCI chairman

MUSCAT: Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, who is elected as the new Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is the youngest to hold the position.

Speaking after winning the election an elated Faisal said: “Our most important priority is to establish the principles
of governance within the Chamber and enhancing public and private partnership. We will also look to intensify communication with business owners.”

Faisal is a member of the Board of Directors of Oman Packaging Co, a representative of Al Baraka Financial Services, and a member of the Board of Directors of Salalah Mills, Al Rawas Holding LLC, Kunooz Oman Holding, and Al Baraka Investment Company.

Last week, nearly 15,000 firms casted the vote to elect a 21-member Board of Directors for the period 2022-2026, which also include an expatriate.
