MUSCAT : Within the framework of its partnership and integration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, the Dhofar Municipality leased lands on annual and temporary contracts at nominal prices to support small and medium enterprises.
As part of this initiative, 84 sites were allocated in various wilayats of the Dhofar Governorate, 60 sites in the Salalah project, and 10 sites in the Muqshin rest house, in addition to the allocation of the ‘Nawafeth’ site in Atin, which was equipped with operational requirements for SMEs registered with the Authority to display their products and provide their services to visitor.
The Dhofar Municipality, in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, also contributed to the appointment of nearly 500 young locals with temporary and permanent work contracts. During the year 2022, the number of projects benefiting from the operation of event sites reached 480; it provided temporary job opportunities during which many small and medium enterprises and productive families in the governorate benefited.
