ROHM unveils programmes for new 2022/2023 season

At a press conference organised on the ROHM premises, Umberto Fanni, Director General of ROHM, said the new season includes 50 performances and events from within and outside the Sultanate, including six opera shows and nine concerts.

Muscat: Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) unveiled on Monday the events and functions for the new season 2022/ 2023, which begins from September 2022 and ends in May 2023.

At a press conference organised on the ROHM premises, Umberto Fanni, Director General of ROHM, said the new season includes 50 performances and events from within and outside the Sultanate, including six opera shows and nine concerts.

He said the season which would kick off in September, will offer four shows on 6 and 7 October and three concerts by Khadhim Al Sahir on 13, 14 and 15 October.

This would be followed by the Omani Women’s Day celebrations on 17 October and Hansel & Gretel show on 18 and 19 October.

He said that November would see six performances, including the military music from Oman and abroad on 3, 4 and 5 November within the celebrations of the Glorious National Day and ‘An evening with Chris Botti’ on 10 and 11 November.

There is also the traditional music concert on 14 November and ‘Marriage Document’ Show, which is a new joint work between ROHM and Festival Opera Rossini and a celebration in memory of Rossini on 25 November and a concert for Nikolay Kuznetsov with the Royal Orchestra -Muscat.

He said that December would see five concerts and shows, including ‘International Music’ on 3 December. A ceremony/party in recognition of the songs of singer and Arabic song writer, Um Kalthoum will be organised from 15 to 31 December.

This memorial event would see the participation of singers Yousra Mahnoush and Ma’ai Farooq among other events and functions.

January 2023 would see several performances and shows, including ‘Love Elixir’ show on 5 and 7 January , the Opera Concert on 6 January, K. Garrett Evening on 19 and 20 January and the folk music festival on 26 and 27January, he said, adding that February 2023 would see a number of concerts and events from 2 February to 25 February featuring different singers and musicians.

March 2023 would see four concerts and shows starting with singer Hussein Al Jismai on 2 and 3 March, a performance by the Ballet troupe of ROHM and the Orchestra Symphony of Armenia on 9, 10 and 11 March and theatrical shows on 17 and 18 of the same month.

The month’s shows will conclude with religious recital evening on 30 March. April would see two evenings for religious recital on 6 and 10.

There would be four shows in May 2023, including a show by Australia Opera House on 4 and 6 May, performance by Stover Orchestra stars on 5 May and the ‘Organ party’ on 13 May.

The month will conclude with performances by singers Asim Al Halani and Marwa Naji.
