Ship carrying wheat procured from Australia arrives in Oman

MUSCAT: Salalah Mills Company has confirmed the arrival of a ship carrying 61,780 tons of Australian wheat.

The new arrival of wheat will contribute to enhancing the wheat stocks in the Sultanate and meet the needs of the local market for more than six months.

Ahmed bin Alawi al-Dhahab, CEO of Salalah Mills Company, said that it’s wheat stock will reach more than 200,000 tons, which will meet the needs of the local market for more than six months and cover the company’s share of the local market for a whole year.

He recollected that in July, the company had received 66,000 tons of Australian wheat as part of it’s plan to provide sufficient stocks of wheat.
