Sohar Hospital Expansion project inaugurated

MUSCAT : The Sohar Hospital Expansion, built at a total cost of OMR 28 million, will increase the capacity of the hospital to more than 636 beds, with an increase of 270 beds to keep pace with the continuous growth in the demand for specialized health services.

The project includes the expansion of the accident and emergency department by adding 68 beds, including 8 resuscitation beds (for adults and children); the expansion of intensive care units in particular, and the construction of an integrated intensive care unit for adults that includes 17 beds, the intensive care unit for children with 16 beds, and the addition of 25 beds for a dialysis unit equipped with hemodialysis machines.

It also includes a special ward for post-cardiac catheterization operations equipped with 22 beds, a special unit for heart patients consisting of 12 beds and two isolation rooms, and the addition of 33 beds in the obstetrics and gynecology unit, plus 20 beds in the day care unit.
