Suhar Industrial City attracts investments worth OMR 44 million

MUSCAT : Suhar Industrial City received 24 investment applications during the first quarter of 2023, and signed 16 contracts for industrial, service and commercial activities, with a total investment of OMR 44 million. The city now has 375 projects, recording a total investment of OMR 2.2 billion.

Commenting on the growth, Eng. Abdullah Al Mayasi, Director General of Suhar Industrial City, stated that Madayn has achieved substantial progress in completing Phase 7 development, with a 95% completion rate.

The project includes a 32-kilometer road network equipped with lighting poles and drinking water, in addition to a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters, rainwater drainage network, protection wall against floods, irrigation network, and two water supply tanks with a total capacity of 2,700 cubic meters.

Additionally, Madayn has floated a tender for a project to study and assess the existing infrastructure in Phases 1-6. This is concerned with studying and evaluating the existing infrastructure and developing plans to address and develop services provided in phases 1 to 6 on an area exceeding 18 million square meters.

“The Plastic Complex project has attracted an investment of OMR 2 million for manufacturing polyethylene and plastic bags on a 12,000sqm area. Suhar Industrial City and OQ are currently working on external marketing efforts for the project,” Al Mayasi added.
