Third Forum for School Administration focuses on best educational practices in Oman

MUSCAT : Under the theme ‘Leadership and Sustainable Educational Visions’, the forum was inaugurated under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs.

Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al Jamoudi, Director General of the Directorate General of Educational Supervision and Chairman of the main organizing committee of the forum, highlighted the crucial role of positive and successful school administration in ensuring the efficiency of the educational process and achieving sustainability in the school environment.

He emphasized the importance of school principals and their assistants in continuing to provide educational services, particularly during periods of study suspension due to various climatic conditions and crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

He noted the significance of the School Education Law issued by Royal Decree (31/2023) in strengthening the governance of the educational system in Oman. The law aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and supports its priorities, particularly in education and learning.

Dr. Al Jamoudi underscored that the law aims to achieve comprehensive and integrated growth of the learner’s personality, encompassing mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects.

The two-day forum targets more than 1,800 school principals, first supervisors, and school administration supervisors from various public and private schools in Oman. It features participation from international and local experts presenting twenty-six scientific papers, a dialogue session, and an educational experiment.

The forum is structured around four main areas: government roles in improving school performance, future skills, digital transformation’s impact on school performance, and creating a comprehensive school environment that enhances creativity and innovation. Additionally, it explores partnership models for sustainable school education at regional, international, and local levels.

In its third edition, the forum aims to empower school administrations with best educational practices to achieve sustainability, high quality, and community partnership. It seeks to inform them of modern educational developments and encourage integration with various sectors of society. The forum endeavors to identify best practices in digital transformation, creativity, innovation, and improve administrative and supervisory performance through performance governance.
