Royal Opera House Muscat to mark Omani Women’s Day

Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat is delighted to present the beloved annual concert on the Omani Women’s Day.

This much anticipated annual event, presented to audiences to coincide with National Women’s Day in Oman, has always been an opportunity for everyone to come together in a celebration of the wonderful women both in this country and across the world.

In a spirit of solidarity and respect, the Royal Opera House Muscat invites audiences to experience this event on many levels.

Firstly, it is a chance to extend warm congratulations to the inspiring women in all areas of life, from tireless mothers and wives to women in industry, the arts, science, academia, and public service.

Secondly, you are offered an event where families and friends can gather with their special ones to acknowledge their love and gratitude, and finally, we present a concert showcasing excellence in musical performance by women.

In 2022, we present a concert which celebrates the women involved in music in Oman: With women now making up more than 30% of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, with the establishment of the First Royal Ensemble for Music and Folklore where women’s engagement in a traditionally male genre of folk music is promoted, and finally, in the participation of the special guest artist, Kuwaiti born, Rawan Behbehani, a pianist of international standing, demonstrating a rare AND extraordinary talent from an incredibly young age.

The concert has been programmed to present music which encompasses traditional sounds of the nation’s heritage and classical music from the world stage performed by a talented host of musicians from Oman and beyond. The season’s theme of Tradition, Innovation and Talent are underpinned in a concert audiences will love.
